2012-13 Considerations by the Brentwood City Commission

This past summer the Brentwood City Commission certified an effective property tax rate of 44 cents per $100 value representing the second lowest rate in the state for municipalities over 25,000 population.  Additionally, this was the 21st consecutive year without an increase in Brentwood's City property tax rate and actually reflects a small decrease from 2011's rate.

Currently, the Commission is discussing the 2012-2013 Budget and Capital Improvements Plan. The CIP covers plans and bugeting for city projects for the upcoming six years.

Bridge construction and roadwork planning for the entrance to Brentwood's newest park, Marcella Vivrette Smith Park, continues.  Initial work is expected to begin by late Spring 2012.  Fundraising efforts by public groups to raise funds by 2013 to add an additional 77 acres are underway as well.  Leading the effort is Citizens for Brentwood Greenspace.  To keep up with the latest City Commission news... Click here to see our current agenda items.
